On the "My Rhythms" page you’ll find five preset rhythms to choose from. The app calculates different rhythms based on your physiology, which is why we ask for your resting heart rate.
1. Select a rhythm from your personalised list of preset rhythms
2. Your selected rhythm will now be highlighted and also shown on the "My doppel" page

Create a new rhythm
Some doppelgängers love to experiment and make their own rhythms, so we've created a dedicated space in the app.
1. To create a new rhythm, select the "new" button that appears at the bottom of the "My Rhythms" page
2. Select "Make a new rhythm"
3. Pull the grey circle on the purple wave up or down to change the BPM
4. Name your new rhythm and then select "Sync".
Why should I edit a rhythm?
So why should you try editing a preset if they are already personalized?
Well, firstly, your feelings are more complicated than a BPM. Only you know how you feel and only you can know exactly how much you like a particular rhythm. Preference matters. Our presets are based on our research, but everyone is different. For example, calming rhythms are preset to just below your resting heart rate, but some doppelgängers like to mimic their resting heart rate instead.
Just because one person finds our presets to be perfect, doesn’t mean that you won’t prefer your favorite calming rhythm to be slightly slower, or your favorite energize rhythm to be slightly faster. Everyone’s physiology is unique and so there’s no reason why your favorite rhythms shouldn’t be unique too.
It’s also important to think about the situation you plan to use doppel in. For example, ‘calm’ means different things to different people. One person might want to work towards a ‘highly-focused calm’ when completing a high-pressure task but a more ‘relaxed calm’ when they feel stressed. In each situation, the person might use a different rhythm, but both are helping them to feel calm.
Many of our customers like to test out different rhythms in different situations - feelings are very personal, so do what feels right for you. If you don’t like your new rhythm, you can always change it back!
