After a failed firmware update doppel can become stuck in a loop, meaning it becomes completely unresponsive. We're really sorry about this and are currently working with our developers to stop this problem from happening at all. Here are some troubleshooting options to revive your doppel.
Connect your doppel to the app
- Turn on your phone's Bluetooth
- Place doppel in the charging base - (it might not vibrate but continue following these steps)
- Head to "My Settings" on the app and if there is an "Update available" prompt then please select this. The firmware process should not take longer than 5 mins. If it does please force quit the app or try clearing your Bluetooth cache and try again. If this does not work please skip to Draining doppel's battery section below.
- Now that your firmware has updated. You will be asked to pair your doppel again. You should notice that doppel vibrates in the charging base or when you try using touch gestures.
- Use doppel as normal.
Draining doppel's battery
If you tried the steps above and they did not work, whilst not an ideal solution, the next thing to do is to let doppel run out of battery and then try and pair via the charging base again. Leave doppel alone for 2 days to drain of battery and do not keep it in the charging base during this time.
It wouldn't normally run down so quickly when off but it is trying to communicate via Bluetooth which will help it empty.
After that, place doppel back in the charging base and pair as normal.
