I have been enjoying my Doppel for the past couple of months, but have some things that the designers should look at re-engineering.
First, the watch band is soft and feels nice against my skin for long hours, but the fact that I wear the Doppel tighter than a typical watch means that the way the Doppel attaches the watch band to the face of Doppel needs a innovative solution. The typical springy watch bar that attaches watch bands to a normal watch pops off too easily when the bands are worn tighter. As a result, my Doppel has fallen from my wrist countless times in the short 2-3 months I have owned it. I am bracing myself for the day it pops off and is smashed or falls through some grating on the ground never to be seen again.
Second, I have seen other people complain about the touch controls and I do have to agree. While I have learned a little of the finesse it takes to get the gestures right, I think the Doppel team could easily rethink the gestures needed to operate Doppel. Double tapping the Doppel is easy and usually works. Getting the timing and movement right for either turning the device on or turning Doppel to a lower setting is still iffy. Simplify the gestures and you will not only make able-bodied individuals like myself relieved, but also extend the usability towards those with movement issues.
Lastly, I keep hoping that I would receive an firmware update or some other update that would fix the random powering off of the device when it reports it has a charge, but I have not seen one yet. There will be times when the device just does not seem to have the energy to keep going then it powers off, but then I check the battery and it says it has half charge.
Well, let me know if you need any further help talking through some of these suggestions. I believe the Doppel product and hope to see you all succeed.
