doppel helps me a lot when I'm flying. Even though my brain knows that flying is safer than so many everyday activities, I can't stop myself feeling really anxious in the lead up to a flight, and during - especially at take off. I'd get that swooping sick feeling at the thought of flying and have been known to cry during take off. doppel hasn't fixed my fear of flying, but it has helped make flights a lot more manageable. I put it on a slow, calming beat throughout the flight and it helps a lot. I use a beat that's below my resting heart rate. I even watch the motor spin during take off and when I'm especially nervous (often when I'm really tired) I try and take deep breaths in time with the rhythm. I haven't cried on a flight since I started using doppel and I've even had a few people who've been sitting next to me ask me about it - and then ask to try it. I always say no (at least while we're flying) because I need it! My partner is less at risk of broken fingers now as I don't need to hold his hand so tightly!
Because I tend to use mine in for specific situations, there have been occasions where I’ve forgotten to charge it. I've definitely got some interested looks when I plug it in at the airport. Although once I left the charger at work and then had to do a flight to Australia (plus the return journey) without it. I’ve learned my lesson though - now it’s the first thing I pack (along with my passport).
All the best,
